Good morning everybody! There's a lot happening this week:
Weekly Digest: You all should have received an email last week focused on our new weekly news show, broadcast every Monday, and how businesses can sponsor it. Please share that email far and wide - we are looking for sponsors for every Sunday's filming session from here on out! Share with contacts or tell me if you have suggestions.
Santa Teresa: Our editorial team is planning a trip there from Nov 6-11 to film the first edition of a new surf video series as well as that week's Weekly Digest news video, and to report on various other stories. If you have story ideas and contacts in Santa Teresa, please let me know!
The Tico Times Sent Me: Have you been reading William Ayre's restaurant reviews or Natalia Díaz's drinks column? If not, you're missing out - and if you do visit the places they recommend, as I have, please tell the restaurant/bar staff that you're there because you read about it in The Tico Times! Their reviews are independent but we can pile on the love after they've published their verdicts, and this really helps us with sales!
A Day in the Life: I'd love to see more installments if this series we began earlier this year but never continued, in which someone with an interesting CR life simply tells us what a day in his/her life is like (example here). For sales, this can be a great free option to offer people you are negotiating with who have interesting stories to tell and are testing the waters with us (for example, A Day in the Life of a tour operator in Costa Rica, or of a treehouse hotel owner, etc.). For editorial, this is a great option to offer interesting people you come across in your reporting. These are unpaid pieces sent directly by the people themselves, unless we get a very interesting prospect that needs to be "as told to..."
As always, don't forget to share our Donations Link (below) far and wide, to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, our weekly newsletter, and our podcast,
Have a great week...Katherine Stanley, Managing Editor
